A rare Copeland & Garrett silver-gilt mounted vinaigrette of flattened form, painted with panels depicting a shipwreck rescue scene and a classical female figure, possibly Andromache beside a large column, on a lattice gilded turquoise ground, the cover mount chased with acanthus leaves, flowers and foliage, impressed Copeland & Garrett and faint printed marks, circa 1840, 7cm [some wear to gilding].
