15 MARCH 1936 - A COMPLETE SET OF "EGYPT POSTAGE PREPAID" COVERS: A group of 24 envs to the Isle of Man, each bearing on reverse a single perf. 14 1p carmine with diamond of bars cancellation. The front has examples of the "Crown/EGYPT POSTAGE PREPAID" h.s. (some in red) and an example of the "M.P.O." c.d.s. alongside of Cairo (9), Alexandria (6), Moascar , Port-Said (3) and Abu Sueir (4) cds alongside. Fine but philatelic. Note: The headquarters of British Troops Egypt arranged fot 50 sets of such covers to be presented to various senior P.O. officials and dignitories. No 7 is absent because it was lost in 1933- the story goes it was dropped down a well in Moascar, the headquarters of the Camel Brigade.
