A smokebox numberplate, 40453, from a Midland Railway 483 Class 2P 4-4-0 No 453 built at Derby in 1920, becoming BR 40453. It spent most of its BR days at Burton before moving towards the end to Patricroft from where it was withdrawn on 19 September 1962, the last surviving MR 4-4-0, and sold for scrap to Campbells at Shieldhall.
