A rare early 1900s clockwork tinplate toy possibly by Meire, Made in Germany. Consists of 2 Penny toys in red and cream with drivers and marked to the front. GES GESCH. They are attached to 2 different length individual metal rods that attach in the centre to What looks like a faux tinplate hillside. To the centre of the mechanism is a metal flag pole with a tinplate French flag. The Clockwork mechanism is inside the hillside part and has a fixed key. Clockwork motor winds and runs. Some wear to the paint in places especially the flag, looks as the the toy was mounted to a base. Both cars look intact and complete. GC £300-400.
