A 19th century five stone amethyst ring, comprising five graduated cushion cut untested amethysts measuring between 3mm x 3mm and 4mm x 4mm, all in a yellow metal closed-back setting with scrolling border surround, continuing to pierced and engraved shoulders and tapering yellow metal shank, ring size P, weight 1.9gms

One of the stones has conchoidal fractures to one side (second from the centre). All show general scratching, abrasion and wear consistent with wear and use. Possible signs of glue repair between the stones and the settings. All claws show wear ranging from moderate to heavy across the stones. Beading and decoration to gallery present, with some denting and misshaping. Shoulders in good order, no signs of repair. No splitting, thinning, denting or re-sizing to shank. This ring is not marked and is not tested, but has been assessed to be gold by the valuer.
