WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: A SILVER CIGARETTE CASE BY W.H. HASELER, BIRMINGHAM 1919, engraved ‘Presented to Mr. A.E.Manns by the Bath Ladies A.F.C.’. ‘Beryl’ ‘D’ ‘Old B’ ‘Season 1921-22 Bernard’ with 24  players names  engraved on the back.
8.5 x 8 cms

NOTE: This cigarette case relates to the 1921-22 football season when the FA was banning the womens game from Association affiliated grounds on the basis that football was ‘not fit for females’ citing spurious reasons for the decision.  This small piece of womens football history stands testament to those who have striven to make the womens game the important sport that it is today!
