A maroon ground Grecian-style shape two-handle vase, possibly by Samuel Alcock, mid-19th century, unmarked, the ovoid body reserved with an oval panel depicting a mother and children on horseback crossing a river in a rural landscape, the border with bands of yellow ground and gilding and further gilt foliate decoration, the neck and handles with bands of yellow and gilt, the flaring rim and short foot with band of gilding, 28cm high
