Henry VIII (1509-1547), third coinage, Half-angel, St. Michael standing vanquishing the dragon, rev., ship bearing shield and cross, h and rose at sides, annulet on ship, saltire/annulet stops, m.m. lis, 2.62g. (c.f. Schneider 627/626 (same obv. die); Whitton var. 3; N.1831; S.2301). About extremely fine, well struck, lightly toned. A very handsome example and extremely rare as such. Ex Marshall Collection, Spink Auction 4002, 31/4/2004, lot 12.
