A fine quality very rare solid bronze sculpture by Judy Boyt (FRSS) titled "Evocation of Speed" Judy Boyt first created this public bronze sculpture in 2002 and currently resides in Epsom's marketplace, this smaller sculpture is an exact replica as the one in Epsom with only 10 being made, this one is number 1/10! The sculpture depicts Galileo, 2000 Derby winner, racing the first winner of the Derby Diomed, the sculpture is to show the past racing against the present day (Millennium) and celebrates the famous Derby race. The sculpture comes with provenance provided by the vendor which includes 2 Judy Boyt Christmas cards one which is hand signed by Judy Boyt also stating the edition number 1 of 10 (see photos). The sculpture is hand signed By Judy Boyt and is in excellent looked after condition set on a mirrored chrome base (just like the original), has a height of 53cm, length of 40.5cm, depth of 18cm. About the artist: Judy Boyt is a well known British sculpture and has produced many public sculptures, which includes the "Rebellion" in Trafalgar Square, she has won many awards including the RSS medal, RBS silver medal (Rebellion), the British Sporting Art Trust award for the the evocation of speed sculpture, along with many others. Judy Boyt has done much TV and media work and her works have been purchased by various well known figures which include the British Royal family, the Sultan of Bruneii, UAE Shiekh Mohammed Al Maktoum.
