RARE HUANGHUALI 'TREASURES' BOX 
QING DYNASTY, 18TH / 19TH CENTURY
the hexagonal box finely carved throughout with overlapping stylised 'crashing-waves' centred by a lotus blossom, opening to reveal an interior lotus stem and further crashing waves enclosing five shaped panels inscribed with poems written by the Qianlong Emperor, the underside also inscribed with a further poem
