Negatives – A historic aeronautical archive consisting of ten albums containing c. 1000 original black & white and colour negatives of military and civil aircraft, including experimental marks, taken by Robert J Carter c. late 1940s to 1970s. Includes several colour images of Spitfires etc, taken at early shows. The archive includes another album containing negatives of mostly naval vessels and vintage motor cars. The vast majority of negatives are captioned with most aircraft identified by serial number. Aircraft types include Lancaster, Spitfire, Mosquito, Walrus, Sunderland, Sea Fury, Dakota, Vampire, Shackleton, Stirling, Hurricane, Cyclone, Fokker, Washington, Hastings, Apollo, Meteor, Hawk, Lincoln, Hythe, Gannet, Hunter, Javelin, Wellington, Canberra, and many, many more. A very important collection of around one thousand quality aeronautical negatives that require close study. (c. 1000)
