World War I Winchester War Service Medal, issued in 1918, bronze, 1 ½ in. diameter, pin-backed, with ‘WAR SERVICE / MUNITIONS MANUFACTURE’ encircling an image of a soldier carrying a rifle in front of the factory, and crested with the American Stars & Stripes. On the reverse is ‘WINCHESTER’ above ‘14838’, the latter being the medal’s individual number. A copy of the original documentation that accompanied the medal on issue is included, which provides details of the medal, including that it was issued to mark one year of service at the Winchester factory.
