Napoleonic War Period 1803 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword

A good example, the single edged curved blade with engraved decoration incorporating a crowned GR cypher and Royal Arms. The hilt of the regulation pattern with lion head pommel supporting a single bar guard with crowned GR cypher. The shagreen grip retaining twist wire binding. Housed in original black leather and gilt mounted scabbard. The top mount with frog button, cutler’s details of “Prosser Charing Cross London” and engraved initials “W.W.B.” Please note a middle band has not been fitted to the scabbard. Overall GC gilt remains good. Blade length 32 inches.
