PATRICK CHALMERS - "INVENTION OF THE ADHESIVE STAMP" CIRCULAR FROM THE MOENS ARCHIVES; Oct. 1887 single-sheet printed circular (some minor dusting/filing marks) headed "THE ADHESIVE POSTAGE STAMP" consisting of a copy of letter to the Editor of "Stamp & Coin Gazette" from "PATRICK CHALMERS" (with an amendment and date-change in his hand at the foot) which came from the archives of the Brussels Stamp Dealers "J.B. Moens & Co.". It reiterates Chalmers's claim for his father as the inventor of the postage stamp. A rare leaflet with a special provenance. [Ex Cavendish 7 Mar. 2013 lot 430.]
