The remaining personal effects of Harwood Elmes Robert Steele (1897-1978): a military steel pocket watch by H.White and Co Ltd, 63 Cheapside, London 3732E case engraved with military arrow and number beneath, white dial, black Roman numerals, blue steel hands, second dial missing hand, together with two cased R.M.S Lusitania medallions, (3). He served with the Canadian and British services in both world wars. Captain of Canadian Infantry, 2nd Division; Enlistment: May 5, 1915, Winnipeg, Manitoba. He served with distinction on the battlefields of Flanders, rising to the rank of Major, ultimately becoming Lieut-Colonel.
