A mid-19th century Welsh mahogany eight day longcase clock with moonphase by William Meredith of Merthyr Tydvil [Tydfil] - the signed, painted arched Roman dial with subsidiary seconds dial and arched date aperture, gilt brass hands, painted landscape vignette spandrels and painted moonphase to the arch, fronting a bell strike movement, the case with arched hood with fretwork cresting and mask to the glazed door, flanked by barleytwist columns, over a trunk with conforming columns flanking the geometric inlaid door, the similarly inlaid and cross banded base with ogee bracket feet (the back feet missing), 220.5cm high, lacks pendulum and weights.
