1879 QV Key Plate Master Die Proof with uncleared value and country tablets, in black on white glazed card, 92x60mm, dated "July 23 1879", "Colonial Key Die" lightly written in pencil. A rare and important De La Rue proof; this first QV Key Plate was used for the stamps of nine colonies, mainly in the West Indies but also including Cyprus and Natal. Photo on Page 136.
