A PERSIAN LACQUERED VISITING CARD CASE, mid 19th century, of plain oblong form, painted in colours and gilded with mythical beasts and peacocks on a strawberry and flower strewn ground, with black velvet hinge, metal shield clasp and pale blue watered silk fitted interior, 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" (Est. plus 21% premium inc. VAT)
Hinge unmarked and untested, a little flaking to the yellow coloured varnish/lacquer(?) over the colours, showing through to white, hinge good, interior good but a little grubby
