Elkington and Co., an electrotype facsimile of the 16th century Nuremberg silver goblet in the British Museum, collection number 103, made 1876, gilded silver plate, lobed, double ogee bell form, cast in relief and chased throughout, the rim with six mythological cartouches, depicting Arachne, Icarus, Judgement of Midas, Flaying of Marsyas, Pegasus and another, above foliate scroll lappets, the base of the bowl similarly modelled with six putti representing the vices and virtues, the underside with lobes of alternating fruit and sea creatures, supported on a baluster stem of three rams heads, the stepped trefoil base with plinth of stag beetle, knotted snake and lizard between three kneeling winged nude female figures, the foot with scroll and bead drop banding, stamped marks and number 667, 21.5cm high
