1553-1554 Queen Mary I hammered silver Groat with pomegranate mintmark (S 2492, North 1960). Obverse: crowned bust facing left with long flowing hair, 'MARIA [mintmark] D G ANG FRA Z HIB REGINA' around. Reverse: shield of royal arms quartered by a long cross fourchée with 'VERITAS [mintmark] TEMPORIS FILIA'. Weight: 1.90g. Diameter: 23.4mm. Grade: VF - Very Fine a historic crease does not detract from great details and attractive blue toning, particularly to the reverse.
