HENRY III PERIOD - SMALL VELLUM DEED REF. PROPERTY IN DERBYSHIRE; Fine c.1250 AD neatly written album-page size 13th century vellum deed (20 x 16cm excluding seal strap; in Latin with almost complete transcript) regarding the sale of some land "infra villam de Engleby" (in Ingleby near Melbourne, south Derbyshire) with the original vellum 'strap' at foot where a wax seal had originally been applied. Nine witnesses are named at the end of the text including "Galfridi de [Staunton]" (known to have been active in 1242-44) and "Engelardo de Curzun" who is known to have lived from 1225 to 1278, hence the probable 1250 AD date.
