Property of a deceased estate - stamps, philatelic & postal history interest - Great Britain - Parcel Post: 1883-1987 a remarkable collection offered intact in three albums and a stockbook, with Parcel Post QV to GV labels (approximately 230, about half with stamps), from many local offices and including the first day of service 1883 (Aug 1st) three labels bearing 3d on 3d from Torquay, or 6d on 6d from Chilham and Blackman Street, London, 2nd day (Aug 2nd) four labels (one a blue label from Smithfield Market) each with 6d on 6d, 3rd day (Aug 3rd) two labels with 3d on 3d, and 1/- orange-brown plate 14, 1883 (Aug 6th) unfranked label with fine central ‘GPO LONDON / PARCELS POST /DEPOT’ hooded circle datestamp, 1895 addressed luggage label with Parcel Post label for Penmaenmawr on reverse bearing Jubilee 4½d, also related material including 1914-18 OHMS used luggage labels for ‘Wounded Officer’s Kit’ and ‘Prisoners of War / Information Bureau’, 1915 ‘Game’ label for a brace of pheasants bearing 7d and on reverse parcel post label for Crickhowell, and later with one album of QEII decimal period items. A rare opportunity.
