A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT METAL MOUNTED RED TORTOISESHELL MANTEL CLOCK, the 10cm white enamel dial with black Arabic and Roman numerals, eight day movement, striking on a gong on the hour and half hour, the movement stamped S. Martie & Cie, height 31cm, with pendulum and key (Condition Report: the clock winds runs and chimes, striking on correct hour at time of report, the three uppermost pieces of gilt metal on the front of the case are slightly loose on their fastenings, the left hand has a replacement pin and also an area of dried glue on the tortoiseshell, otherwise all tortoiseshell appears intact some chipping to the enamel around the winding holes and around the pin protruding above '60', there is a hole in the base due to repositioning of the gong support)
