A GEORGE II PICTORIAL NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER. by Ellys Remington, dated 1738, worked in coloured silks on linen, headed by the alphabet and the hymn 'Hosanna to King David's Son' with Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden below and 'Ellie Remington was born the seventh of July in the year 1728', all within a repeating lozenge border, 30cm x 25cm; together with a portrait miniature on paper, purportedly of Remington, housed in an ebonised frame with acorn surmount, frame size 13.5cm x 11cm.
