A French black slate mantel clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a gong with the backplate stamped B.R., the round brass dial having a black marble chapter ring with inset gilt Roman numerals and brass spade hands, the rectangular black slate case with three inset panels set below the dial engraved with depictions of a thistle, a rose and a shamrock, with the dial surround painted with flowers on a blue ground, height 30cm.
