A vibrant emerald green two-piece 1850’s costume, the bodice with long, pagoda sleeves, trimmed with black machine lace which complements a faint black stripe in the silk, front fastening with hooks and eyes, concealed by covered black velvet buttons, cream cotton lining, the gathered skirt, requiring a crinoline, has a four-panelled apron-styled over skirt, trimmed with the black machine lace (3)
Slight underarm staining but concealed in the main by the black lace trimming. A few small marks on the skirt but the silk appears strong.
