*Dullah (Indonesian, 1919-1996) Portrait of a young girl signed lower right oil on canvas 34 x 29cm.
Note: Dullah was born in Java, Indonesia, and studied with the influential painters Sudjojono and Affandi. In the late 1940s he was a supporter of the Indonesian Revolution and painted many scenes depicting the Indonesian struggle against the Dutch. One such scene was offered at Christie's Hong Kong 30 May 2010, lot 1229. During the 1950s Dullah was appointed official palace painter for Soekarno, Indonesia's first president.
