1849 Florin, Victoria. The so-called "Godless" florin was introduced into circulation but quickly rebuked by the population for omitting D:G or DEI GRATIA (By the Grace of God) from the legends with the reworked "Gothic" design introduced into circulation in 1852. Richly toned with deep greys over rainbow hues. Perhaps once cleaned though in this instance most definitely does not detract. [ESC 802, Bull 2815, S.3890]
