A pair of French 19th century Napoleon III style Chateau internal carved walnut double doors complete with original architrave and hidden brass hinges, the four main panels carved with rampant lions supporting a slender column surrounded by foliage, the four upper & lower smaller panels carved with winged medusas above fruit, the central panels carved with central snakes above a gilt bronze winged medusa mask handle, flanked by two dragons, 2.5m high

Provenance - In 1923 a builder built his own red brick house in Dronfield, Derbyshire, the doors were installed by the builder at the time between the sitting and dining room, unfortunately where they came from was a mystery. The house was sold in 1962 who owned it for the next 60 years, the third owners who are now modernizing the property have decided they belong in an environment more fitting.

The doors including the architrave measure 2620mm x 1420mm, there are in good condition the panel above the handle on the left-hand door does have some cracks (please see additional image) probably caused from central heating, the is some fading to the right hand side caused by sunlight, no key
