SAS Special Air Service Jump Helmet. An unusual example circa 1960s believed used by Lt Col W.L. Mundell BEM second hand, the previous owner being another SAS legend Sergeant Major Edward Geordie Lillico. possibly during his period undertaking Jungle Parachute jumps in Malaya. The helmet tailored by Everoak, the shell has been spray painted green with a double chinstrap and with an ink name CPL LILLICO to the padded lining. Some service and age wear The helmet is believed to have been worn by Sergeant Major Edward Geordie Lillico who's military career spanned 33 years many of them with the SAS. In 1951 operating with the SAS following a fire fight in the Malayan jungle and serious wounded he was bleeding badly he lay hiding for 36 hours before he knew it was save to call in help, not wanting to endanger friendlies. For his gallantry he was awarded the BEM.
