Railway. L.M.S. post grouping 1948. A rare collection of approx. 50 x 2" square format, black and white negatives, housed in a paper book. The negatives all date from 1948 and were taken by published photographer R.J. Maxwell. There are some gaps in the collection, sadly we do not have these to sell. The majority of the locos are L.M.S. and there is 1 rare shot of "Coronation" 6226 with streamlining still in place. Most of the locos still carry the LMS lettering but one or two have started to have B.R. applied to their tenders. There are some captions and notes alongside most of the negatives, including loco number, date and location. Most of the locations are in the North West or Scotland: Horwich, Preston, Lostock, Motherwell etc. Copyright will pass to the buyer. Sample illustrated.
