DUBLIN - LATE USAGE OF THE 4d-POST HANDSTRUCK "4" MARK ON DOUBLE-RATE UNPAID 1848 COVER; 7/8 May 1848 EL (an order for tartan for the 71st Regiment in a large sheet; some weak folds) from "Aldborough Barracks, Dublin" to Stirling endorsed "O.H.M. Service" and unpaid and so with a very fine strike of the Dublin Handstruck "4" mark (very late usage of the 4d-Post Period marking of 1839/40) nicely placed on the front. Very few Uniform Penny Postage usages of Handstruck 4 marks such as this have been recorded.
