A Chinese embroidered silk robe, 20th century, Qing Dynasty, a roundel to the centre back showing buildings and bridges over water, similar panels to the shoulders, surrounded by bats and other auspicious symbols, a wave pattern to the lower section, round collar, silk fastening with toggles, short sleeves fitted with embroidered sleeve bands ( huan xiu) featuring bats, decorative vases and large flowers, working in Forbidden Stitch, on yellow silk, turquoise damask silk lining
