AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK, by Barwise of Cockermouth, the painted dial 32cm with moon phase to the arch and painted with a castle in a landscape, flowers to the spandrels, black Roman numerals, the 8-day movement striking on a bell, the hood with broken arch and globe and eagle, reeded pilasters, the door crossbanded flanked by quarter reeded pilasters, over a field panel to the base on ogee bracket feet, 233cm high

Movement: Appears original, complete and in good condition, with recent signs of restoration, i.e clean with new gut line etc. NB: there is an unsigned label at the back of the dial, mentioning near gut lines 'some pivot work'. The date work is engaged and progresses when the hands are turned. The moon phase is also engaged but these do not usually work. NB: we are unable to set up and test this clock.

Dial: Is in good condition with some retouching mostly to the edges.

Case: Restored, appears complete and in good condition. Eagle ball is either a replacement or restored.
