DARTMOUTH INDIA LETTER PAIR TO G.B. - WITH "CUDDAPAH/POST PAID" OR DISINFECTED (TO MADEIRA); 1829 EL (light toning consistent with vinegar disinfection) to Madeira merchants Newton Gordon & Co.'s "Thomas Murdoch" with Calcutta boxed ds and mainly v. fine boxed "INDIA LETTER/DARTMOUTH" on the flap (the filing note show that the addressee did not get it until Feb. 1830 although there is a Dec. 1829 London cds so this show that it was forwarded under cover to Madeira); plus 1832 EL from "Cuddapah" to GB (by the "Madras") with fair red oval-framed "CUDDAPAH/POST PAID" on the flap and endorsed "Paid to Madras.
