A William IV 1822 pattern infantry officer's sword, slightly curved, pipe backed blade 32", well etched on both sides in panel with crowned reversed and interlaced WR cypher with "IV" and wreath, and at forte on both sides with "Prosser Maker to the King & Royal Family, London" in frosted panel, brass hilt retaining a little original gilt, incorporating crowned WR IV cypher, with turn down inner portion, stepped pommel, foliate backstrap with thumbpiece, wirebound, fishskin grip, original dress knot (worn), in its brown leather scabbard, with engraved locket and frog stud, and chape, with traces of gilt.
