A French ebony, ebonised and inlaid portico clock, late 19th 20th century, French, the twin train movement signed 'J. Marti & Cie', with outside countwheel bell strike on the hour and half hour, no. 2168, the enamel dial with Roman numerals and foliate gilt bezel, the case with inlaid pediment on four barley twist pillars to an inlaid, stepped plinth base, 19½in. (49.5cm.) high, together with an ebonised base for a glass dome. (2) * Winds, runs and strikes. Nicotine staining to dial, gilt parts and movement. Case good overall - chip to ebony veneer to top of base, line of brass stringing missing from back of base, some wear to corners of base. Glass dome missing.
