Property of a gentleman - Clive Metcalfe (British, b.1944) - SEA FRONT FROM PIER - acrylic, 10.75 by 14.75ins. (27.3 by 37.5cms.), in glazed frame - signed lower centre. Footnote - Clive Metcalfe studied at Southampton Art College and Chelsea School of Art, and, as a singer and song writer, was a founder member of the band Pink Floyd. He is a member of the National Acrylic Painters' Association, and has exhibited at the Curwen Gallery, London, and elsewhere. Some of his work is held at the Bridgeman Art Library. His commissions include works for the British Museum and Dover Harbour, and his paintings have been used in several books.
