A Metropolitan Arms Co of New York Navy model revolver, with octagonal, rifled cal. 36 barrel; six-shot cylinder with serial number '18**', smooth frame, brass grip strap and trigger-guard, matching serial number, wooden grip scales. From 1864-1866 only 6063 pieces of this arm were made, which was a 'copy' of Colt 1851 model. 12.5cm high 33cm long

Overall with browned oxidisation, hammer cocks imperfectly and then doesn not always respond to the trigger, brass mounts equally scuffed and oxidised, numbered to the underside of the barrel, near the trigger guard and beneath the butt.
