At this time, Knight was becoming increasingly interested in the life - especially the back-stage life - of theatre and circus performers. THE JANE ALLINSON COLLECTION The Allinson Gallery of Connecticut USA, is a member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association and has been trading since 1976.Over 40 years ago, Derek and Jane Allinson began to collect works by British printmakers, primarily from the 1850s through the 1940s, who concentrated on landscapes, images of villagers, sailors and the sea, farmers and agriculture.Hailing from the North of England and with an inborn love of the British countryside, Derek W. Allinson is a professor emeritus at the University of Connecticut whose teaching and artistic interests lay in the fields of agronomy and animal industry. Jane Allinson has a background in medieval studies. The Allinsons now wish to share the works in the hope that other enthusiastic collectors will provide a home for these outstanding examples of the British etching tradition.
