Provenance: 1st: John Cator, probably the English timber merchant and MP (1728-1806); his Chippendale armorial bookplate to recto pastedown; 2nd: 1st) Mary Every (née Morley of Horsley, Derbyshire), her ink MS. title-page ownership inscription as the Dowager Lady Every, her third marriage (of 4) being to Sir Edward Every, Baronet of Egginton, Derbyshire; 2nd) by descent to her daughter Emma Penelope Spilsbury (née Moseley), wife of the Rev. Francis Ward Spilsbury of Willington, Derbyshire, tipped-in MS. leaf; 3rd: by descent through the Clayton & Rashleigh families of Surrey and Cornwall, contemporary armorial bookplates and inscriptions.
