Attributed to Hendrik Van Steenwijk II (c.1580-1640) Dutch. Interior of a Gothic Church, possibly a design for The Hooglandsekert in Leiden, Oil on copper, 12.5" x 16.4" (31.7 x 41.6cm). Provenance: Mrs Mary Hampson of Halifax (a benefactor to the Bankfield Museum); thence by descent. Notes: We believe some of the figures were added by another hand. A Similar work by the artist is in The Hermitage Museum (No.1895)
