A worksplate, GREAT CENTRAL RY, BUILDERS, GORTON WORKS, 1914, MANCHESTER, from a GCR Class 1A 4-6-0, nine of which were built in 1914, and were usually known as the Glenalmonds after the Class leader. They became LNER B8 Class Nos 5439-46 and 5279 and were renumbered 1350-58 in 1946. Several were allotted BR numbers but none were carried and all were withdrawn by 1949. Cast brass, 10½"x6¾", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
