A 12 bore flintlock coaching carbine with top spring bayonet by Brummit (Nottingham) c 1800, 35½” overall, octagonal barrel 20”, with gold touch hole and Tower private proofs, the 17½” spring bayonet released by a catch on the breech tang; large flat stepped lock having semi rainproof pan, roller on frizzen, cam on frizzen spring, and signed in script; walnut fullstock with sparcely floral engraved brass mounts, the trigger guard with urn and pineapple finial, with sling swivels and replacement wooden ramrod.
