An 18th century eight-day oak longcase clock by Robt Holborn, South Cave (Yorkshire). The 27cm (10 1/2") dial with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar niche, the swept cornice with applied gilt mouldings, the hood and case with blind fret carving and column sides, height 226cm. The clock is complete with a pendulum, two weights, and a winding key. It has been entered for sale from long-term storage, so we are unable to ascertain if it is in working order. The case is clean and presentable, with a little strengthening visible on the back The movement is clean and appears complete. There is some historic woodworm on the seatboard.
