A mid 18c eight day longcase clock, the 30cm arched brass dial signed William Murray, Gosport and having date and seconds indicators as well as a moon phase dial in the arch and, unusually, day of the week and month triangular segments in the Dutch style. The rack striking movement has another escapement and is rack striking on a bell. It is contained in a green lacquer chinoiserie case decorated to both front and sides. The hood has a flat top and columns attached to the hood door and the long trunk door has an arched top and the base has a stepped plinth. Clock stands 191cm h overall.
The dial is in good order and the movement complete. The lacquer case seems to have been restored and is in good condition.
