AN AMERICAN CAST IRON MINIATURE RIFLE MARKED FOR THE '12 N H VOLS'. A cast Iron miniature rifle marked '12 NH VOLS' to the stock probably for the American 12th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry'. This unit served in the Union army during the American civil war. They were active from the 10th September 1862 until June 21st 1865 when they were disbanded. Probably a model of a Model 1861 Springfield rifle, similar to the British Enfield of the period. 40cm long.
Lacking top of the hammer, slight pitting but good tone to the surface.
