A nameplate, CAMELOT, with King Arthur Class appendage below, from the London & South Western Railway Urie N15 Class 4-6-0 No 752 built at Eastleigh in June 1919 and named by the Southern Railway in 1925 after the principal court and residence of King Arthur in Arthurian Legend. This was one of ten Urie N15s loaned late in 1942 to the LNER which was short of motive power. All were allocated to Heaton and returned to the SR in July 1943. It finished its days at Bournemouth, often working the Bournemouth-York service as far as Oxford, withdrawn from there in February 1957 and cut up at Eastleigh Works. Cast brass, length 31¼", the back stamped 742 and the number also shown in punch marks. The plate has been polished from time to time over the years, but shows all the marks from years of service and bolt marks around the holes, the face has probably been repainted.
