A SECOND WORLD WAR GERMAN WAFFEN-SS 1ST SS-PANZER- DIVISION 'LEIBSTANDARTE' OFFICERS' MESS MILK JUG. A Leibstandarte Officers' Mess milk jug in 'German Silver' with handle and stepped foot, engraved with the 'L.A.H.' monogram. Marked 'Wellner-Sohne' (the same maker as used by Hermann Goring). 9 cm high 15 cm wide. See Mollo 'Uniforms of the SS', Vol.3 p.57, fig 2, for an illustration of this monogram. These items are said to have been looted by the Russians in 1945 from the Leibstandarte's barracks at Lichterfelde in Berlin.
