After Sesson Shukei (Japanese, 1504-about 1589) the first of two antique Kanō school eight-panel byobu (folding screens), ink on paper with silk borders mounted on wood lattice and within a wood frame, depicting figures and pagodas and buildings, in the foreground there are fishermen on their boats, with four poems written in gold interspersed among the scenes, dimensions fully extended approx 368cm wide x 152cm high - provenance in pictures
